Ancestral Voices Cultural Revitalization of the Mokaná People

Ancestral Voices Cultural Revitalization of the Mokaná People

SUMMARY
The Andean Foundation presents an ambitious project to safeguard the cultural heritage of the Mokaná indigenous people in Tubará, Atlántico. This project, essential for the preservation of the historical and cultural memory of the community, addresses the loss of key elements such as language and ancestral traditions. The research proposes a series of strategies to recover and revitalize the Mokaná cultural identity.
Among the actions proposed, detailed documentation of cultural heritage is included, as well as the restoration of ancestral practices that have been in danger of disappearing. In addition, the creation of accessible digital archives is contemplated, which will allow the conservation and continuity of this knowledge for future generations.
The project has a comprehensive approach that seeks not only to preserve existing knowledge, but also to encourage the active participation of the community in the recovery of its identity. In this way, it is expected to strengthen the intergenerational link, ensuring that the new generations of Mokaná can know and value their cultural heritage. The initiative of the Andean Foundation is a crucial step for the defense of cultural diversity and the recognition of the richness that indigenous communities contribute to the global heritage.
